Happy Monday. Our weekend was spent debating the placement of this pretty walnut clock. Pete thinks it’s ridiculous to have a clock facing the upstairs landing, and I think it’s ridiculous to have a third clock in our kitchen (the two current clocks are digital reads from our microwave and oven). Julia’s completely indifferent, and mostly enamored that when she stands especially still and quiet, she can hear the second hand tick. There’s your perspective.
Obviously, spoiler alert, I installed it while the other two were off galavanting at the YMCA. Bwa-ha!
The Crate & Barrel 13″ Walnut Clock was a wedding gift we registered for happily (and received, thank you very much)! It’s beautiful, a classic looking form with modern simplicity, and a big reason we liked it is that the walnut color would tie into the stained shiplap feature walls we have scattered throughout our home. Ours has nicer grains that the one shown on the Crate & Barrel website too, score.
Plaster’s fairly easy to repair, and I still have part of a gallon of Venetian Gold stored in the basement, and that’s what I’ll be doing if I have happen upon a moment of clarity and realize that there’s a better spot in our home. After months of debating, I think I’ve eliminated most wall spaces from the realm of possibility. I more than kind of like it in it’s new spot (Pete still respectfully disagrees, but co-exists peacefully with many of my decor decisions).
In other news, look at how I was able to get it completely flush against the wall. Sometimes I am super pleased with the little things, and this one for a brief few moments didn’t seem as though it would be possible.
