If you’re like me, you probably see a lot of stuff in retail stores that you don’t buy because, well, you can make that. I do it a lot, inspiration’s everywhere from that cool modern wall unit (my iteration seen here) to the couch arm sleeve (mine, here), to the Portabella Brushetta in the Mediterranean Bar at Wegmans (I don’t blog about everything, but I have to assume that mine was at least as good as theirs).
And I obviously considered making this when I saw it in Anthropologie last week (sale priced at $19 from $38). It’s a pitcher, or a vase, or both.
But really, could I make this? Probably not as well, the penmanship is impeccable. And probably not for less, buying a robust assortment of glass paints alone would be double the cost of the product I bought. But maybe it’s nice inspiration for other people out there. Let’s look at it from all angles.
It’s classic, a perfect clean-lined shape for our new home, accented with the perfect assortment of colors to play up our neutral walls and to-be neutral floor.
What have you bought lately that you decidedly did not want to DIY?
